Željko Bakalar
Member of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Željko Bakalar is a member of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He holds a degree in law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Mostar, where he defended his thesis in Constitutional Law on the topic of the Electoral System of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He worked as a civil servant, serving as a senior professional associate and legal advisor at the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina for four and a half years prior to his engagement in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2019, by the decision of a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was appointed as an advisor to the member of the Presidency from the Croatian people. In 2020, by the decision of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was appointed as a member of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina. That same year, he began serving as the chairman of the Central Election Commission, a position he held until 2022.
