Roman Udot
Independent expert
Roman Udot is a seasoned election observer, data analyst, and forensic expert who has been monitoring elections in Russia and abroad since 2004. As co-chair of Golos, Russia’s leading election monitoring organization, and a member of ENEMO’s Secretariat, Udot has been instrumental in exposing fraud and advocating for fair elections. His extensive work—ranging from deploying observers and running hotlines to utilizing mathematics and neural networks—has had both significant impact and brought personal challenges, including searches, raids, arrests, being labelled a “foreign agent,” criminal punishment, and being entitled as a political prisoner. Due to his outspoken anti-war stance, he was forced to step down from his positions and leave the country but continues to dedicate himself to democratic principles in the capacity of an independent specialist.
