Jelena Lončar
Associate Professor, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade
Jelena Loncar is an associate professor at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Belgrade, where she teaches courses in political sociology. She also teaches in the SIT Study Abroad program in Belgrade, Budapest, and Vienna, focusing on Comparative European Perspectives on Conflict and Democracy. Jelena earned her PhD from the University of York, UK, and holds a Master’s research degree in political science from the same university, as well as a Master’s in political analysis and management from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Belgrade. She completed her undergraduate studies in International Relations. Her research interests include political representation, gender and politics, ethnic politics, and civil society. In recent years, her research has focused on the effectiveness of political representation and the performativity of representative claims. She writes extensively on the representation of women and ethnic minorities, as well as on trends of autocratization in Southeast Europe.
